Lioness lunar eclipse , August 2014
Hey folks, tonight’s full moon is a blue moon, the second in a calendar month. January 1 was also a full moon. Remember how beautiful it was? Because the moon is quite close to Earth in this phase of orbit, both January full moons are Supermoons.
But that’s not all! There’s also a lunar eclipse! Here on the east coast, we’ll only see a partial shadowy bite taken out of the moon near dawn, but you lucky west coasters may want to peer out the window (or heck, you live in a warm climate, go outside!) while you drink your morning coffee…or start your day with Moon Salutations. Post pictures, please.
